The Robo camps we ran over the Christmas holidays were so successful we are going to bring them back as a once a month event. We will be running the same fun and educational program, but we will be running them regularly throughout the year as well as over the Christmas break. This means that we will be able to provide more young, enthusiastic engineers with the knowledge of Lego robotics and what opportunities that are out there for them and encourage them to keep an interest in a STEM based career.
Since our last robo camp at Knox library, we the students of IC Robotics haven’t been resting. Finishing our large FRC robot and competing at the Australian regional where we won the “image award” as well as performing well in the robot game and presenting to industry professionals our “Chairman’s award” speech and video. We also had the opportunity to show our robot to a suitably impressed Prime minister Malcolm Turnbull and foreign minister Julie Bishop. We are currently improving their robot “Mr. Basil” for the Duel Down Under in Sydney later this year.
